Benefits of the Haycube

Metabolic issues
The reduction of potassium and water-soluble carbohydrates by soaking are essential in the management of laminitis, metabolic and dietary conditions where intake levels must be closely monitored.

Respiratory Health
A lowered head and neck position encourages natural airway drainage; this is the first line of defence against deep inhalation of food and prevents dust related particles hitting the walls of the airways and imbedding in the mucous membrane which can lead to chest and lung infection and respiratory complaints such a COPD.

Weight Management
Soaking hay combined with slow feeding can extend eating time, in turn helping to support controlled forage intake, while minimising the risks of other gut health related issues including gastric ulcers.

Posture & Performance
Feeding in a ‘natural’ downward position ensures there is minimal tension through the neck and back; therefore working as a natural stretch of the horses top line, keeping the joints and muscles supple & minimising strain.

Digestion Health
Encouraging a slower rate of consumption leads to more thoroughly chewed food which is then mixed well with saliva, in turn optimising the rate of digestion. This increased rate of digestion decreases the chance of impaction colic and other digestive related illnesses.

Great Dental Health
Ground level feeding encourages correct positioning and relaxation of the jaw promoting chewing in long strokes from side to side, thus creating even wear on the teeth.

Behavioural Issues
Longer feeding times can reduce boredom and encourage natural foraging behaviour.
Floor feeding also allows the horse a vision range of virtually 360 degrees - being a flight animal it is important that the horse has the ability to have this span of view whilst eating to ensure complete relaxation.
Customer reviews
Since its creation in 2012, the Haycube has become an essential piece of daily yard equipment for thousands of horse owners both in the UK & across many parts of the world. But don’t just take our word for it ….

History of the Haycube
“As a horse owner, I knew first-hand the challenges of soaking hay, reducing waste and encouraging more natural feeding. Existing products never quite achieved everything I needed, so in 2012 whilst studying at Coventry University, I decided to design my own.
After months of development, testing and refining, the Haycube was born – an innovative hay soaker and slow feeder designed to make feeding simpler, cleaner and more efficient for both horses and their owners.
Today, Haycube is trusted by horse owners across the UK and around the world.”
